New Project Status

Hello everyone,

I want to let you know that the API for this project will be shutting down next month.

It's been a great journey building and maintaining this project. The first version of the browser extension (v1.0.0) was released exactly one year ago, on June 4th, 2024. Since then, I've been personally covering the monthly hosting costs to keep everything running.

However, I believe it's time to move on and focus on new ideas and projects. While this was never a commercial endeavor, and there were no donations to help support it, I'm grateful for everyone who used and appreciated the work.

So, what does this mean for you? Is this the end? Not quite. The extension will continue functioning, but with limitations. When the API goes offline, it will no longer receive updates — no new websites will be added or removed. At the time of writing, there are 618 blocklisted websites stored locally within the extension. These will continue to be blocked without relying on the server.
